You Were Made on Purpose, for a Purpose
In a world that constantly tells you to be thinner, smarter, more successful, or more like someone else, the Bible offers a radically different message: you were fearfully and wonderfully made. Not by accident. Not as an afterthought. But intentionally, carefully, and with deep purpose by a God who knew you before you were born.
These 5 Bible verses are a reminder of who you are when the world tries to tell you otherwise.
1. Psalm 139:14 — "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
This is the verse that started it all. Written by David in a moment of awe and worship, Psalm 139:14 is a declaration that your existence is not ordinary — it is sacred. The word "fearfully" in the original Hebrew carries the idea of reverence and awe. God didn't just make you — He marveled at what He was creating.

2. Jeremiah 29:11 — "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
You were made with a future in mind. Before the foundations of the earth, God had a plan for your life — not a vague idea, but a specific, purposeful design. When you're in a hard season and it feels like things are falling apart, this verse is an anchor. The same God who made you fearfully and wonderfully also has a plan for where you're going.
3. Ephesians 2:10 — "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
The word "handiwork" in Greek is poiema — the root of our English word "poem." You are God's poem. His masterpiece. Not a rough draft, not a mistake. A carefully crafted work of art created with intention and given purpose. The good works God prepared for you aren't burdens — they're the reasons you were made.

4. Genesis 1:27 — "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."
From the very first chapter of Scripture, God establishes something extraordinary: you bear His image. Not a copy, not an imitation — but the imago Dei, the image of God. Every person you encounter carries this dignity. And so do you. No comparison, no competition, no insecurity can take that away.
5. Isaiah 43:1 — "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine."
God doesn't just know you exist — He knows your name. You are not a face in the crowd to Him. You are summoned, called, redeemed, and claimed. When fear, doubt, or shame tries to define you, come back to this verse. You were made fearfully and wonderfully — and you belong to the One who made you.
Carry These Truths With You
The enemy works overtime to make you forget who you are. That's why surrounding yourself with truth — in the Word, in community, and yes, even in what you wear — matters more than you might think.
